The Atlantic light south of Porto flattens everything into pale gold, and every village seems to have a potter who has been watching flowers longer than most people have been alive.
JJ found this plate propped against a stone wall at a Douro Valley lunch, bread resting on it, entirely at ease. The blooms are loose, generous, nothing like florals meant for display rather than use. No two are painted quite the same.
Place this set of 4 side plates among darker stoneware or plain white. It holds its own beside almost anything you already own.
