Primula florindae, commonly known as the giant Himalayan cowslip, is an impressive, tall-growing primrose producing large umbels of fragrant, rich yellow, bell-shaped flowers held on sturdy stems above lush green foliage. The leaves form substantial basal rosettes, giving the plant a bold, architectural presence that stands out in damp borders and beside water.
This species is particularly valued for its strong wildlife appeal, with nectar-rich flowers that attract bees and other pollinating insects throughout early to mid-summer. Its height and generous flowering make it an excellent focal plant in naturalistic and woodland-edge planting schemes, contributing both structure and ecological value.
