The second zip opens to reveal an insulated compartment designed to keep your food and beverages fresh until you require them.
The fact that this picnic bag comes in the form of a backpack means the weight is distributed nicely by the fully adjustable, padded shoulder straps. This offers a level of comfort not provided by a basket or shoulder/ cross body picnic bag.
